Off topic - The Festive Season in Brussels

Do we have a SantaClaus in Belgium?
Yes we do, but his name is Sinterklaas and unlike the American SantaClaus he visits the children tomorrow., december 6.
He comes from Spain, arriving in a steamboat.

This is Sinterklaas with the fake major of Brussels and it's obviously not the real one. He's much to young to be real ;)

Children that behave during the year get chocolate, sweets and toys.
Children place their shoe next to the chimney and at night, Sinterklaas climbs the rooftops and throws everything through the chimney.
Naughy children get whipped by the help of Sinterklaas, Zwarte Piet or Black Peter.
Sinterklaas hasn't got any raindeers, he's got a horse with a weird sounding name: Bad Weather Today.

When Sinterklaas left the country, we can start the preperations for Christmas.
We used to have a Christmas tree at home.
A big one.
With one large Christmas ornament.

She thought that was sufficient and threw out the other ornaments.
Now we have this tiny tree.

Outside, in the centre of the city, the shops and halls are decorated.
A bit less than previous years because of the worldwide crisis.

And yes, truffles are chocolats too.
Delicious ones at Neuhaus.

Brussels, Capital of Bonbons and Chocolates

There's a Christmas tree at the Grand Place, the center of Brussels.

And unhappy looking people ;)

We have a Christmas Market with little stalls, that was too crowded to take a picture.

The food in this shop is not for free. It's THE place to be for oysters with Champagne and a typical Brussels dish, Moules Parqués or raw mussels. Don't look at me, I never tasted them.

The Christmas Market is hosted by the people of Mongolia, this year.

Once a year we get these strange looking carousels. I can't stop taking pictures of them.

Let's not forget THE BEAST that occupies a street corner the entire month

Our street doesn't believe in Christmas.

But there's always the mural on the street corner to look at,

And Casper, clowning around in the house.

On Buddy list of TV's100 sexiest Austin made it to number 12.
That's great! Congratulations!!!!

However, I wonder who voted for this list.
Curious as I am, I went all the way to number one, to find out it was that guy called Hero, Nero or Zero, ..... no wait, Helo.... from Battlestar Galactica. I lost interest in Dollhouse before I could find out what he was doing in that show. He's at number one?

So, good for Austin. He deserves this place.
But, ..... where is Vesperlynd's and my 'other guy'?
Close together but surely the voters must have been blind this year :D

What further more to expect from Julian?

Julian was literally ordered to leave Tree Hill for a while and take up another movie project. This order came after more issues rose from his friendship/work-ship, call what you will, with trouble-maker actress Alex Dupre. “He moved there for Brooke....and he finds someone who's in his world and in that part of the country and it's nice to collaborate with them because it's a highly collaborative business...and who knows when the next opportunity will lie and he's like, I'm here with my girlfriend and I can't go back to Hollywood and I wanna work so this is kind of my opportunity to work and be here”, Austin Nichols said on his character's reason for not ending his work with Alex, which only led him to problems with Brooke.

From only starting out to assist Alex with her script, Julian ends up divulging a personal secret to her about his desire to have kids after realizing Brooke can't have them. This of course only further tears Brooke apart, as the fashion designer was already feeling guilty about taking his life in Los Angeles away from him.

"I feel like everybody likes to be liked and wanted. He's definitely let that sort of survive”, said Nichols on why Monday night's episode ended the way it did for Brooke and Julian. “He's been very clear about where his loyalties lie...he hasn't done anything wrong but he hasn't told her to stop because at the same time he's working with her and he wants to continue to develop these projects so it's kind of a slippery situation”, Nichols said
